Investment firm acquires majority stake in ORS
An Irish owned investment firm has acquired a majority stake in the Mullingar-headquartered building consultancy, ORS.
In a statement released to the Westmeath Examiner, ORS says that the new investment from Erisbeg “will support the company to grow organically and through acquisition and will see ORS hire over 150 new positions nationwide over the next three years”.
In addition to the creation of 150 new jobs, ORS's expansion plans include the establishment of a new office base in Cork. The firm currently has six office locations spread across the country.
Established in 1991 by Paul O'Reilly and Finbarr Stuart and currently led by John Brennan, ORS has expanded significantly in recent years due to what the firm says is its “ award-winning employee care initiatives and people-centric culture”.
John Brennan, ORS Partner and managing director, commented, "We are truly excited about partnering with the Erisbeg team. At ORS, our culture is at the core of everything we do. Finding a partner that valued this approach was very important to us. We look forward to working with the Erisbeg team on the next phase of our expansion."
Finbarr Stuart, ORS Partner, added, "From our initial discussions with Erisbeg, it was evident that they shared our core values and vision to take ORS to the next stage of growth and development. We are fortunate to have a skilled and vibrant workforce with the ability and ambition to drive the company towards new and exciting horizons.”
Andrew Murphy, an Erisbeg partner, says that “from the the first time we were introduced to ORS and its management, we were struck by the quality of the business”.
“Fundamentally the strength of the management team and the depth of engineering expertise across the business was striking and gives us great confidence in the ability of ORS to deliver strong growth both organically and through acquisition."
Erisbeg I LP invests in Irish SMEs with ambitious management teams with a strategy to grow their business organically in Ireland and internationally. This is the fourth transaction that Erisbeg has completed in this calendar year. ORS will add to Erisbeg I LPs compliance platform. This is the first investment by Erisbeg into construction and building consultancy.
LK Shields (Legal), Deloitte (Financial) and EY (Tax) advised Erisbeg on the transaction. ORS was advised by Focus Capital, Amoss Solicitors and BCA Chartered Accountants.
The commercial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
