Committee set out plans for Mullingar St Patrick's Festival

Mullingar is preparing for a St Patrick’s Day festival on March 16 to 18, and plans to make this year’s national holiday the central part of a weekend of celebrations.

A new committee has been set up and the members are anticipating that some 5,000 people will attend for a weekend of music, culture, sport, family fun and entertainment.

A spokesperson for the committee said the event will benefit the town and businesses, “We also hope to attract national and international media coverage of the festival”.

In keeping with traditional parades, they look forward to having floats from local organisations and businesses, and individuals – “the more the merrier!”.

Entering a float is a chance to showcase businesses and people who run local firms are invited “to get the creative team in your business together and enter your float in the 2023 St Patrick’s Day Parade in Mullingar – you never know, you might even win a prize!”

Costs

As with all events, there is a cost to making sure the festival is a success and the committee seek help from local businesses and anyone wishing to contribute in any way towards sponsoring or covering these costs.

Sponsorship packages are available as follows:

Gold Package – Sponsorship of €1,000, which includes;

• Branding and advertisement in local print media

• Tickets to the official launch celebration

Silver Package – Sponsorship of €500, which includes;

• Framed ‘Appreciation Display Certificate’

Bronze Package – Sponsorship of €250, which includes;

• Recognition on our social media platforms as a bronze supporter

• Shop window sticker
