Automation for swimming pool booking on way

Efforts are under way to introduce an automated system for those booking swimming lessons at Mullingar Swimming Pool.

At January’s meeting of the Municipal District of Mullingar Kinnegad, Cllr Aoife Davitt asked for an update on progress.

The official written response to Cllr Davitt’s question stated that options are being explored to identify a system compatible with the current system in the pool. “A software solution has been identified and quotations for same are currently being sought,” the written response stated.

Expressing the hope that the plans come to fruition “sooner rather than later”, Cllr Davitt said that operating without such a system was “a drain” on the time of staff: “I know the amount of hours that they work and it’s not just for parents with children but also for schools,” she said.
