Mullingar's Melanie Lynch in documentary 'Finding Brigid'
Following Herstory’s successful three year campaign, St Brigid’s Day is Ireland’s new national holiday - the first named in honour of a woman.
Founded by Melanie Lynch, Herstory leads the national St Brigid’s Day celebrations with a spectacular Herstory Festival of Light, illuminating iconic landmarks with beautiful art of women.
Light Shows take place in Galway today, Friday January 27; Roscommon on Saturday on January 28; and in Kildare January 31 and February 1.
Herstory's Melanie Lynch and Laura Murphy also join Derry Girls star Siobhán McSweeney as she gathers a “mnásome” group of women in a stone circle in Galway in her quest for the Real Brigid.
Tune in to watch RTÉ’s epic new documentary Finding Brigid on Tuesday January 31 on RTÉ One at 10.15pm.
An interview with Herstory's Melanie Lynch will feature in next Tuesday's edition of the Westmeath Examiner, January 31.
