‘Walking together in Faith and Love’

The Ember teams from Loreto College and Coláiste Mhuire, newly-founded faith-leadership groups within the schools, organised a walk to mark the theme of Catholic Schools Week last Thursday.

Titled ‘Walking together in Faith and Love’, the walk took the students from the Harbour Field, and along the canal, where they were asked to look for God’s presence in their lives through nature.

Sr Anna McAuliffe led the TY groups in a brief prayer and the walk concluded in the Cathedral of Christ the King, where Bishop Deenihan celebrated Mass for Loreto College, Coláiste Mhuire as well as St Finian’s College, whose students joined the others for the Mass.

The Ember teams from the local schools helped compose the liturgy and took part throughout the Mass.

At the end of Mass, balloons were released to represent their anxieties and fears going into this calendar year.
