Strong entries for Mullingar Half Marathon 2023
The Mullingar Half Marathon committee are busy on plans for the 2023 race. Now in its ninth year, the race takes place on St Patrick’s Day, starting on Pearse Street and finishing in Mullingar Town Park.
With some 1,600 participants and 20 countries represented, the annual event is a must-run for athletes of all abilities and the course is ideal for achieving personal best times.
The Mullingar Half Marathon are continuing their partnership with TEAM (Temporary Emergency Accommodation Midlands) and all proceeds go to support the work they do in the region.
In 2022, the committee were delighted to present TEAM with a cheque for €34,500.
Martin Marshall, representing TEAM, thanked the committee for their support and relayed their appreciation of this funding year on year.
Deputy Robert Troy, joint race director, who has been involved on the organising committee for a number of years, said: “We are looking forward to our annual St Patrick’s Day half marathon, which always proves popular with runners for the course and the hospitality.
"The race attracts large numbers and registrations are up on this time last year, so I encourage people to register soon.”
Rachael Ingle, CEO, Aon Ireland, event sponsor, said her company are delighted to continue their partnership with the Aon Mullingar Half Marathon for the eighth year in a row.
