Very busy weekend at Mullingar Tennis Club

Mullingar Tennis Club were hosts to the first Leinster competition of 2023 on Sunday, March 26.

The Spring Day Cup was competed for by twelve clubs who entered, stretching from Carlingford to Wexford, to Termonfeckin and on to Moate. Beautiful weather conditions added to a magnificent day of high quality tennis.

Wexford defeated Ratoath in a very tight final and were the deserving winners of the ‘A’ section.

John Hill, Laura Newman, Richie Forbes and Emer Meisonnave, representing Mullingar, had a tremendous win in the ‘B’ section over Termonfeckin. Congratulations to the four players.

Thank you to Leinster Tennis for this event and to those in Mullingar Tennis Club who gave of their time with the hospitality on the day.

Junior side

Our juniors were in action on Sunday when they hosted Stackallen and Laytown/Bettystown in the Regional Junior leagues. Congratulations to our U12s and U14s who won all four matches in their age groups and thanks to the visiting teams for making the trip to Mullingar.
