Dollard wants Ginnell Tce paths 'dished' for wheelchair users
Roads, trees and footpaths all featured in the list of concerns brought to the attention of officials of the Mullingar Kinnegad Municipal District at the district’s February meeting by Cllr Mick Dollard.
A request that in the event of future footpath restoration at Ginnell Terrace, that the council ensure the paths be “dished” to accommodate the special needs of various wheelchair users in the area was made in motion form.
To that, the response was that the request would be borne in mind should funding be allocated in 2023 for footpaths at that location.
Cllr also Dollard asked that road resurfacing be carried out on the old N52 Delvin Road opposite St Colman’s NS and Assumption Villas, and was told that could be considered in the context of the 2023 estimates.
“A section of the road in Lynn Heights Estate has been included for 2023 in the three-year Road Restoration Programme,” the council responded.
Cllr Dollard also asked if there are any proposals to carry out road surfacing or restoration at Wood Down, The Downs. To that the reply was that a section of the L5604 Wood Down, The Downs has been included for 2023 in the three-year Road Restoration Programme.
He also asked that the district arrange to have the trees opposite O’Growney Drive pruned, and was told the trees will be examined and pruned if necessary.
The final issue raised by Cllr Dollard was that road restoration be undertaken at Lynn Heights, Mullingar in the current year.
