Wexford and Belfast bid for Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2024
The venue for Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2024, organised by Comhaltas Ceoltóirí na hÉireann, will be decided by the Ardchomhairle on Saturday, 11 March, at 4.30pm.
The announcement will be made at Cultúrlann na hÉireann, Monkstown.
There are two applications – from Belfast and Wexford.
The fleadh is regarded as one of the largest cultural festivals in the world.
It attracts some 500,000 people, with 15,000 performers and generates around €60m for the host region.
Following the covid disruption, the 2022 fleadh was in Mullingar and, following its outstanding success, fleadh 2023 will return to the town where Comhaltas was founded in 1951.
