More than 10 cars damaged 'maliciously' in Mullingar
Gardaí in Mullingar are appealing for public’s assistance after a spate of criminal damage incidents were caused to vehicles in the town on Thursday night last.
A garda spokesperson said more than 10 cars were damaged "maliciously" across areas including O’Growney Drive, Ashefield, and St Brigid's Terrace.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses who may have been in any those areas between 10pm on Thursday March 9, and the early hours of Friday March 10, to contact the Detective Unit of Mullingar Garda Station.
“We are also appealing to homeowners with cameras or video doorbells installed, and we are focusing on the areas targeted, including Ashefield, St Brigid’s Terrace and O’Growney Drive," said the Garda spokesperson.
“A sizable amount of damage was caused to the cars, everything from wing mirrors kicked-off to windows smashed.
“This wasn’t an attempt to break into the cars, this damage was caused maliciously," the spokesperson continued.
“If anyone saw anything suspicious or could assist us in any way, we're asking them to contact the Detective Unit here in Mullingar."
