The 'Dolly Songbook' Show comes to Athlone
Fans of the legendary country music artist, Dolly Parton, are in for a real treat when Cliona Hagan brings the 'Dolly Songbook Show' to the Shamrock Lodge Hotel in Athlone on Friday, March 31 next.
Awarded the accolade of 'Female Vocalist of the Year' for the past four years in the prestigious Sunday World Entertainment Awards and reaching the finals of RTE''s Dancing with the Stars, Cliona has realised a lifelong dream to pay homage to one of her favourite female artists of all time in her latest show.
The 'Dolly Songbook Show' embarked on its first nationwide tour in March 2022, and was a huge success, selling out its entire run of shows.
Backed by the hugely-talented 6-piece Sheerin Family Band from Tang, Cliona now brings the 'Dolly Songbook Show' to the Shamrock Lodge Hotel at the end of this month for an unforgettable night of entertainment.
The County Tyrone native, who married the youngest member of the Sheerin family, Simon, in May of last year, spent all of her formative years in music listening to the music of Dolly Parton, and included many of her biggest hits in her musical repretoire.
“I have always sang a couple of Dolly songs in my shows and every time my fans would tell me how much I am like a young Dolly” she explains “so after being approached by Ritz Records I decided to record an album of Dolly songs and pay homage to this amazing lady”
The success of the album led to Cliona Hagan fulfilling the ambition of a lifetime by paying homage to Dolly Parton in a full show built around the songs of the legendary country music artist.
In her 'Dolly Songbook Show' Cliona Hagan will perform hits like '9 to 5' 'Coat of Many Colours' 'I Will Always Love You,' and of course, 'Jolene.'
