Eight public order arrests over Patrick's weekend, say gardaí

Eight people were arrested for public order offences over the bank holiday weekend in Mullingar.

Speaking to the Westmeath Examiner, a garda spokesperson said that given the large number of people what were out and the large amount of alcohol that is usually consumed on St Patrick’s Day, local gardaí are pleased that the weekend was relatively uneventful.
