Local teens 'Speak Out' to promote positive social change
At the Young Social Innovators (YSI) nationwide Speak Out Tour during its stop at the TLT (Tommy Leddy Theatre) in Drogheda on Thursday, March 23, Sophie Whelan, Tori Trower, Sarah Monaghan and Melissa Power from Wilson’s Hospital School, Multyfarnham, spoke on the topic of ‘Comfort to Crisis’.
They are among 5,000 secondary students from across Ireland taking part in the tour, which is also visiting South Dublin and Sligo over the coming weeks, having already travelled to Dublin City, Cork, Kilkenny and Limerick.
The teenagers are speaking out on social issues affecting them and their communities. Among the topics being tackled are mental health, the housing crisis, gender equality, domestic violence, online safety, upcycling, green spaces, loneliness and much more.
