Property marking day at Mullingar Garda Station

The Community Policing Unit at Mullingar Garda Station are holding a property marking day on Saturday, April 1, from midday to 4pm.

The day will encourage the message, “engrave your bike” – which will consist of the property owner’s eircode being engraved on a bicycle in an effort to prevent thefts and/or recover bicycles to owners in the case of theft or loss.

The property marking has proved to be popular around the country and local gardaí “would encourage all bicycle owners to attend the station for this event and crime safety advice also”.

“We envisage holding another property marking day in the summer, which will cover items such as tools, machinery and trailers,” said Gda Neil Donellan.
