Watch: Rose of Tralee tours Mullingar
Rose of Tralee, Rachel Duffy, was in Mullingar today, Thursday May 4, to catch up with those who have supported her on the Rose journey.
"It's been a long time in the planning but I'm finally getting to tour Westmeath, it gives me a chance to catch up with all those who have supported me along the way," the Rosemount native said.
She visited Ann and Aine O'Reilly, the mother and daughter team at Zobi on Mary Street, who designed the dress Rachel wore the night she took the Rose of Tralee title.
The pair are currently in the design stage for another dress that Rachel which wear at this year's festival August.
Rachel then popped by the Spice Bean Café for a quick coffee on her way to the North Midlands Credit Union, where her late mother Cathy worked for 18 years.
There she met with five staff members who worked alongside her mum, along with other Credit Union personnel, and CEO Tom Allen.
The Rose then made her way to the Greville Arms Hotel, meeting with manager John Cochrane, and of course took the obligatory selfie with Joe Dolan on Mullingar's Market Square along the way.
On Wednesday, she visited her old primary school, Rosemount NS, and tomorrow she returns to her former secondary school, Moate Community School.
