€1.7m for Westmeath projects under Community Recognition Fund
Almost €1.7m to community projects in Westmeath under the Community Recognition Fund, including upgrades for the swimming pool and the Grange astroturf pitch in Mullingar.
Minister Peter Burke said he was delighted to announce that his colleague, Minister Heather Humphreys, has made the allocations. “The Community Recognition Fund has been designed to develop infrastructure and facilities in areas where a significant number of new arrivals have been accommodated from Ukraine and other countries
“In total, the fund will administer nationally €30m in 2023 and €20m in 2024.
“This goes to show that when viable, worthwhile projects are identified and highlighted, the funding is there – we back these communities and we fully recognise the efforts being made.
“Well done to the hard-working committees and local authority staff and I’m looking forward to seeing these significant investments really making a difference – building safer, stronger communities,” said the minister.
