Mullingar Tidy Towns prepare for visit of judges
The volunteers at Mullingar Tidy Towns (who do so much to keep this town tidy!) are anticipating the visit of the judges for the national Tidy Towns competition around now.
They are appealing to everyone around Mullingar to do their bit to help the town put its best foot forward.
As part of that, they have released a video that shows the beauty of the town, its river and canal, its park and its main streets, roads and estates.
Production of the video was supported by the Waterways Ireland Community Heritage fund for 2023.
Declan Murray SKYFAB did the camerawork.
Some 160 students from Mullingar Community College, St Colman’s National School, Loreto College, Coláiste Mhuire and The Link took part on the day of the filming.
Coillte and Crann Ireland Tree Magazine supported the planting of a tree at the harbour.
Eoghan Murray and the team from Apache Pizza provided the food, and that went down well!
Cllr Bill Collentine, chairperson of Mullingar Tidy Towns, said: “I would like to extend a special thanks to all who work tirelessly in keeping our town and rivers looking amazing.”
