New addition at Franciscan Friary
The unveiling and blessing of a newly erected oak statue dedicated to St Anthony at the Franciscan Friary took place last Tuesday evening.
The statue is at the entrance to the Franciscan Church.
It was the brainchild of local man Joe Savage, who has taken on the onerous task of keeping the Friary grounds maintained since the retirement after 40 years service of James Melia.
Through the generosity of the McGivney family, Richie Clarke was commissioned to craft a magnificent sculpture for all to reflect on and enjoy.
