With just weeks to go, FEC make final push for sponsors

Mullingar hosted the highly accoladed Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2022, ‘The Homecoming’, which welcomed in the region of 500,000 visitors to the founding town of Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann, and generated upwards of €50m for the local economy.

The FEC (Fleadh Executive Committee) are now busy getting ready to do it all again. Cathaoirleach, Joe Connaire, said: “It has been a great privilege to host this fantastic event and showcase Ireland’s Hidden Heartlands to a global audience. The announcement last September that Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann was to return to our great town of Mullingar was a testament to the Comhaltas volunteer committee, with the support of Westmeath County Council, and the passion that was collectively brought to make the 2022 Fleadh a resounding success and an unforgettable one.”

Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann is the premier cultural event in Ireland and the world’s largest annual celebration of traditional Irish music, language, song and dance. It is expected to attract 500,000 visitors to Mullingar again this year and as always, it is estimated that 25% of those visitors will be from overseas.

With just weeks to go to this year’s Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann, on August 6-14, the FEC wish to acknowledge the unfailing support of the sponsors of this year’s fleadh, financial support without which they could not hope to once again produce a record breaking Fleadh Cheoil.

The ‘Premier Sponsor’ again this year is North Midlands Credit Union.

‘An Clár’, official programme

The FEC also thanked all the organisations and local businesses who have taken out adverts so far in the official Fleadh Programme, An Clár. There are still opportunities to take ad in An Clár, a publication that is kept as a souvenir of the event and is referred to time and time again by those who buy it.

With thousands of copies being printed, it is a good opportunity to put a company message and brand featured in front of readers from all over the country, and indeed the world.

The deadline is on July 14 at noon; contact Linda on 086 8064108, or pricelfleadh2020@gmail.com.
