Art shows passion for women’s power in new Ireland
Artist Magdalena Weber’s debut exhibition in the Atrium at Áras an Chontae in Mullingar last week showcased her passion for Ireland and especially women’s power in the new Ireland.
She says her paintings symbolise her profound connection to Ireland and her artistic exploration of women’s power. The exhibition, which represented a culmination of Magdalena’s artistic journey since her arrival in Ireland three years ago, was a compelling display of her talent and creative vision.
A native of Kraków, Poland, Magdalena Weber’s fascination with Ireland’s people and landscapes was evident from an early age. As she grew up and attended school in her hometown, her passion for painting flourished. Her journey as an artist began when she enrolled at the prestigious Kraków Art College, where she honed her skills and artistic expression.
Following her artistic calling, Magdalena embarked on a transformative journey to an art college in southern Italy, further expanding her horizons and exploring various mediums. Eventually, she found her way to the Westmeath, where she settled and wholeheartedly devoted herself to her craft, particularly working with oils.
This first exhibition, at The Atrium, was a showcase for Magdalena’s extraordinary talent and her unique perspective on women’s power in an ever-changing world. Through her masterful brush strokes on large canvases, Magdalena’s art seeks to shed light on the experiences, challenges, and resilience of women in today’s society.
Speaking about her artwork, Magdalena said: “It’s an honour to share my paintings that reflect the beauty of women. Through my art, I also aim to raise awareness of women’s issues, advocating for their empowerment and rights in our dynamic world.”
Magdalena’s expressive and emotive style promises to resonate with viewers of large scale paintings into the future, and ignite meaningful conversations.
The local community, art enthusiasts, and visitors to Mullingar are eagerly anticipating Magdalena Weber’s next exhibition, which takes place during the Fleadh Cheoil and will be part of an open air exhibition of paintings on the railings of Mullingar Courthouse.
