Omniplex break records with 570,000 cinema admissions in 14 days
Omniplex Cinema Group broke their two-week admission record when they welcomed more than 570,000 cinema-goers across their 37 cinemas during the opening 14 days of Barbie and Oppenheimer.
The surge in admissions, also fuelled by blockbusters Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One, Elemental and Indiana Jones And The Dial Of Destiny, beat the group’s previous 14-day record, set in July 2018, when Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again, Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation, The Incredibles 2 and Mission Impossible: Fallout were the headline features.
Mark Anderson, director of Omniplex group, said: “Welcoming the equivalent of an ‘Aviva Stadium’ of cinemagoers nearly every day for two weeks requires a lot of dedicated staff and management to ensure the comfort and safety of all patrons.
“Omniplex are so incredibly lucky to have amazing teams to serve customers, clean up after those customers and keep the popcorn stocked for the next customers!
“Thank you to all our staff, management and support teams for all their dedication and hard work, and of course, thank you to our loyal Omniplex customers and MyOmniPass members for their custom and their love of cinema. We look forward to seeing you again very soon.”
Since June 2021, Omniplex Cinema Group has opened four new locations, in Mullingar, Ballinasloe, Killarney and Belfast. Soon the group’s 38th cinema location will be open in Scotch Hall Shopping Centre, Drogheda.
