Ballynacargy GAA Mini-Camp going from strength to strength
Ballynacargy GAA Club’s Annual Mini-Camp was another resounding success this year, with 40 children aged between 3-5 years enjoying two days filled with excitement, fun and football.
Each year the Mini-Camp is held on the Thursday and Friday of the Westmeath Cúl Camp in Moynihan Park to give our youngest footballers their very own camp experience.
The children played all manner of fun games such as ‘Rob the Nest’, ‘Giant Parachute’, ‘Tug-O-War’ and ‘Bumper Cars’, having a wonderful time with each activity. They also managed to find time to practice some very basic football skills.
Each of the 40 children received a specially designed Mini-Camp jersey and football. Both parents and children enjoyed a pitch-side party when the camp finished on Friday evening.

Ollie O'Neill, Orla Cahill (Kind Kids Club, sponsors of the mini camp), Aidan Lyons and Molly Woods.This year’s Mini-Camp was again coordinated by Aidan and Frances Lyons and it was made possible by the very generous sponsorship of Orla Cahill and Kind Kids Club. Activities were delivered by a fantastic group of eight coaches who took time out to organise and run the camp.
Special mention must go to our young coaches, Ciara Baird, Laura Kerrigan, Abigail Judge and John Lyons, who were fantastic with the children.
Ballynacargy GAA Mini-Camp is open to both club members and non-members. Next year will be the fourth annual staging of the event which is believed to be the youngest GAA Summer Camp in Westmeath.
