Five-year-old Daniel charms fleadh crowd

The Gibson siblings from Oldcastle aren’t from an Irish dancing family but after Shauna took it up because she “just liked it”, her brothers decided to follow in her footsteps.

Shauna (14) told the Westmeath the Examiner that she, Conor (12) and Ryan (10) have been dancing for “about five years”, while five-year-old Daniel “started last year”.

They attend the Smith-Boylan School of Dance in Oldcastle and this is their second fleadh, as they attended and competed in Mullingar last year.

Shauna said her fleadh highlight is “doing the competitions” because “they’re fun”.
