Fine success for Mullingar Club in Abu Dhabi
Five youths from Relentless Martial Arts in Mullingar travelled to the IMMAF Youth MMA World Championships in Abu Dhabi where they enjoyed a successful outing.
The competition ran from Wednesday August 2 to Saturday August 5. The Mullingar youths from Relentless club were part of team Ireland and were they selected a few months before. The team included Kayden Dalton, Tyler Byrne, Cadhlá Gilhooley, Olivia Babiarz and Ali Syron. There were 46 other countries participating at this competition and Relentless Martial Arts achieved 1 gold (Kayden Dalton) who is now the 2023 World Champion and 4 bronze medals (Tyler Byrne, Cadhlá Gilhooley, Olivia Babiarz and Ali Syron).
Team Ireland came sixth overall in the competition, winning 13 medals of which Relentless Martial Arts secured five medals. The Relentless Martial Arts Club would like to give a massive shout out to all the businesses in Mullingar that supported their trip.
“Local Mullingar businesses have been such a massive help to these kids competing out of Relentless and we couldn't do it without them. We are proud to represent Mullingar and Ireland on the World stage,” said Alan McCormack, who runs the club in Mullingar.
