Major canoe polo event taking place in Mullingar this weekend

Mullingar Harbour will come alive this weekend with 150 children from around Ireland taking part in this year's Canoe Polo OVERLOAD event, an all-island coming together of young canoeists for two days of fun activities.

The event is the largest junior event on the Canoeing Ireland calendar and takes place on both sides of the harbour bridge, all day Saturday, August 26 and Sunday, August 27.

This is the sixth year Mullingar has hosted the event and will represent the largest number of boats ever on the water in the harbour.

The event is open to spectators to come along and watch the non stop fun activities on the water, and to see the exciting sport of canoe polo being played by all ages and skill levels.
