LCA offered at Wilson's for first time this year
Wilson’s Hospital School principal, Frank Milling, has said that this year’s results are exceptional and demonstrate the resilience and commitment of the young adults who sat the Leaving Cert.
The school offered “a massive congratulations to all of the students in the class of 2023. The school is so proud of them all. It was lovely to see them back in school to share their good news.”
There is a type of Leaving Cert course to suit every student and the deputy principal, Mr Galligan, was busy congratulating all of the students on their results. In the traditional Leaving Cert exams, results included the 625 maximum points, and more than 50% of the year achieved 450-plus points. The class average points increased by 34 on last year.
The first ever LC Technology class at Wilson’s joined the many other subjects and recorded H1 results; and 75% of the Leaving Certificate Vocational Programme (LCVP) class achieved Distinction grades.
This year was the first time that students at Wilson’s had the option to sit the Leaving Certificate Applied (LCA) course and 100% of the students received Distinctions.
Mr Milling thanked all the teachers and families who have supported the students from the beginning of their education. He said, “Your encouragement and support of the students’ whole person development, inside and outside the classroom, has been well repaid with these results.”
He wished them success and happiness as they move to the next chapter of their lives in third level education, apprenticeships, work and travel.
Wilson’s looks forward to seeing the class of 2023 back at Past Pupil Association events and encourages them to keep in touch with the school.
