Sisters have lovely locks cut for charity, once again

Sisters Aoibheann and Saoirse McGivney have had their lovely hair cut again to raise funds for charity.

They first had it cut in 2017, when Aoibheann was nine and Saoirse five: now they are 14 and 10, and they have repeated the exercise.

Their hair was 12 inches long and what was cut will be turned into wigs for children and adults.

“Their hair was that thick there is definitely a couple of wigs in it!” said their mother, Deirdre.

The Tyrrellspass sisters started growing their hair about a year ago and have chosen to support the LauraLynn – Ireland’s Children’s Hospice, through the Locks of Love for LauraLynn campaign.

They have a fundraising page on idonate.

On idonate, the girls write: “Thank you for taking the time to visit our fundraising page on iDonate.ie. We hope that you can help us by donating whatever you can. Simply click the Donate button. All donations are processed securely. You can also share our page using the Share options. This is a great way to show your support.”
