Record September temperature recorded at Mullingar weather station

A record temperature for September was recorded at Mullingar Weather Station yesterday (Thursday).

Met Éireann confirmed earlier today that record temperatures were measured at both Mullingar and Mount Dillon (Roscommon) weather stations.

In Mullingar, the 26.5 degrees measured yesterday eclipsed the 25.5 degrees registered on September 10, 1959.

Mount Dillon also recorded the highest temperature in the country yesterday at 28.1 degrees Celsius.

The previous September temperature record at the station had been 27.4 degrees from September 2021.

The station is located on Bord na Móna lands just north of Lanesborough.
