‘Where We Are’ Ukraine photography exhibition
An exhibition of work by members of the Ukraine community exhibition opens in Mullingar Library this week.
The exhibition is supported by Westmeath Arts and Creative Ireland funding, and is the result of photographic workshop over the summer with Emma O’Brien.
The launch is tomorrow, Thursday September 14, at 6.30pm.
Its title is ‘Where We Are’ and it shows new photographs that explore the participants’ new community here in Mullingar, alongside archival images of their home country.
Emma said: “The work is a powerful reminder of how their lives have changed so dramatically since the war and their displacement.”
