Statement from the Ireland East Hospital Group:

Regional Hospital Mullingar’s MRI project is in its final completion stage, we expect that the MRI building will be handed over before end Q3 2023.

The MRI scanner is now installed and will be commissioned in Q4 2023.

Regional Hospital Mullingar has submitted the MRI staffing proposal to IEHG and Acute Hospital Services and awaits approval.

When approval has been received, Regional Hospital Mullingar will then be in a position to commence the recruitment process to operationalise the MRI Service.

In the interim, IEHG have approved the recruitment of a clinical specialist radiographer for the MRI service so preparatory works can commence.
