Tyrrellspass underage LGFA family fun day
The Tyrrellspass Underage LGFA family fun day on the local GAA grounds was a day that was packed full of fun and laughter.
On Sunday September 3, Tyrrellspass underage LGFA came together to welcome the community of Tyrrellspass and beyond, activities included an obstacle course, wellie throwing, tug-o-war, where the underage girls won against the underage boys… three times. That will definitely be something the girls will have bragging rights over for years to come.
There were various races from U6s to over 40s, which were quite amusing. The three-legged race proved out to be the most popular with the younger participants.
There was plenty of activity at the Aunt Sally stand, where many players and coaches walked away soaked from head to toe but all laughing and enjoying the fun.
The weather was on their side, and amazingly, they got one of the few dry and sunny days of last couple of months.
In addition to all the activities, there was a fantastic BBQ, tuck shop and raffle on the day. The generosity of individuals, whether sponsoring prizes or baking treats for the teas and coffees, or just being there to help clean up, was outstanding.
The day was a real community even and a huge crowd attended.
It would not have been possible without the generosity of all the sponsors and work by the underage committee and parents.
Tyrrellspass underage LGFA would like to thank Tyrrellspass GAA for always supporting the ladies underage football and helping whenever needed.
“We would also like to thank our main sponsor Mark Wright for his generous first prize in the raffle. In addition to Mark, we would like to thank, Kepak Kilbeggan, Pat The Baker, Brownes on the Green, Paul and Jenny Cunningham, Tyrrellspass Doors, Connell Brothers, Fagan Toymaster, Ian Seery, Centra Kilbeggan and The Barn Tyrrellspass and of course we cannot forget our BBQ Masters, Ian and Val Seery, Ashling Daly and Regina Early and our tuck shop and Raffle assistants, Olivia Coyne, Yvonne Harte, Edel Brennan, Mags Connell, Aishling Twohill, Jenny Cunningham, our underage girls Rachel Murphy, Rose O’Brien and Amy Seery, who helped out with the skills corner and Eabha Brennan, Kate Mohan and Jane Maxwell who did amazing jobs at face painting and the GAA underage coaches and committee and all other individuals who helped out in anyway during the day, of which there were so many.
“We would also like to take this opportunity to congratulate of U14 girls who won their semi-final against Goldsmiths and are now into the county final. Good luck girls!”
