Streete parish loses a gentleman - RIP, Brian

We at the Westmeath Examiner would like to express our condolences with the friends and family of Brian Nerney, RIP.

Brian was one of the longest serving and most respected contributors to the Westmeath Examiner, both as local correspondent in Streete, and through his role with Streete Vintage Club and their annual show, and Streete Parish Park.

Brian retired as a contributor to the Examiner, after 27 years, in October 2019, and handed over responsibility to Kevin Brady, member of the Streete Parish Park committee.

Brian, and his colleagues at Streete Parish Park, began submitting district notes to the local newspapers in 1992, first to the Longford Leader, and soon after to the Westmeath Examiner and Westmeath Topic in Mullingar.
