Foot path parking ‘hindering residents’ in Rochfortbridge
Cars are parking on the footpath and hindering residents at Castlelost, Rochfortbridge, according to Cllr Emily Wallace.
“Even the bin lorry has to hop on the grass and ambulance and emergency services would not be able to access the houses,” she said at the October meeting of the Municipal District of Mullingar Kinnegad.
Deirdre Reilly, director of services, said the district engineer would look at it.
Cllr Wallace also called for “urgent repairs” to the road between Delvin and Drumcree.
She was not satisfied at being told that minor repairs will be carried out and the road can be considered for funding in the next estimates.
Residents need to access their homes and businesses. Significant damage has been caused to homes and cars, she claimed. It was agreed that the council would see what could be done in the interim.
Following a further request from Cllr Wallace, the council agreed to write to Uisce Éireann regarding the inclusion of a property at Millview, Milltownpass, in the sewage scheme.
