Margaret Coady, deputy principal, Columba College, Killucan, gave the main address at the open night on Wednesday week last, October 11. Welcoming parents of prospective students from the surrounding area, Ms Coady told them that they would have a great night.
“There’s lots of activity, there’s a great buzz around the school, a great sense of camaraderie.”
She thanked all the staff, and in particular the teaches and SNAs, and the students who put on demonstrations in all the classrooms.
“I’d also like to thank the parents association, we have a very active group in Columba College, and they’re here tonight to talk to parents and answer any questions they might have; they also have tea and coffee for anyone who would like some.
“We would also like to thank everyone who came tonight, the parents, the fifth and sixth class pupils who came to view Columba College, we hope you had a great night.”
Concluding her remarks to the Westmeath Examiner, Ms Coady said that if anyone wishes to enrol at the school, the necessary forms are available on the school website, or they can email or phone to the school to request the forms.
She said enrolment is now open and the closing date is Monday November 13.
