Drugs worth almost €150,000 found in parcels in Westmeath
Revenue has made another significant drugs seizure in Athlone, where drugs worth almost €150,000 were found in parcels yesterday (Thursday).
In a statement about the seizure, a spokesperson said:
"As a result of risk profiling, Revenue officers examining parcels at a premises in Athlone seized over 1.99 kgs of ketamine, 313 grammes of MDMA tablets, 118 grammes of MDMA powder and 31 grammes of cocaine with an estimated value of over €147,500."
The drugs had been contained in parcels which came from the Netherlands and were due to be delivered to addresses in Dublin.
Revenue said investigations into the seizure were ongoing.
