Approaching the village from Ballindurrow, volunteers with Multyfarnham Tidy Towns have recently reconstructed the signs and landscaped the area that was damaged during an unfortunate accident, thus enhancing the village entry.

‘We salute the Multyfarnham Tidy Towns volunteers’

BMB Active notes

One of the joys of living in a rural village is the opportunity to celebrate the sense of community and connectedness.

Many BMB Active members enjoy participating in the shared activities of other community groups, such as Multyfarnham Tidy Towns.

BMB Active are delighted to congratulate them on their recent AGM, where Angela Cocoman was elected chairperson, Annette Tarpy, treasurer, and Anna von Buana as secretary.

It is interesting to note the comments from Tidy Towns adjudicators, who praised the collaboration with Westmeath County Council highlighting new footpaths.

They described the village green as an asset, commenting on the beautiful edifice of St Nicholas Church, stating that its red door and clock were a joy. They found business premises such as Murtagh’s and Weir’s “warm and welcoming”.

The efforts of the MTT volunteers secured them a 10 point improvement on last year’s results.

Multyfarnham Tidy Towns volunteers are always interested in recruiting more members.

Thanks to all the individual people who share in their pride in their sense of place and ensure their homes also look their optimal. It’s a community effort.

The importance of sustainability, biodiversity, and inclusion of all sectors will comprise the Multyfarnham Tidy Towns sustainable development goals. Be part of the projects up your way!

In the village of Multyfarnham the Tidy Towns volunteers celebrate the achievements of those who have gone before, as reflected in some of the commerative signage beautifying the village on an autumn day.
Multyfarnham Tidy Towns volunteers expressed delight at the 10 point improvement in the score they received from the national competition judges, who commented that the edifice of St Nicholas Church, with it’s red door and clock face was a “joy”.
