Tribute to Sr Margaret Murray, RIP

It was with great sadness that her Mullingar friends learned of the passing of Sr Margaret Murray on October 2 at the Tara Winthrop Nursing Home, Swords, County Dublin.

Sr Margaret, a native of Pullough, County Offaly, entered Loreto Convent Navan in her youth, moving to Loreto Convent Mullingar in the late 1970s.

During her time in Mullingar, she made many friends, among them many who were lonely or challenged. She would offer a listening ear or words of comfort to troubled souls.

Almost every day, Sr Margaret set off from Loreto Convent to visit people in need in the Mullingar area, taking with her a bag containing small gifts.

A quiet, gentle and unassuming lady, Sr Margaret passed away on the Feast of the Angels, and that is surely no coincidence, because Sr Margaret was a true angel of mercy.

She will be sadly missed by those who were fortunate to know her and be her friend. Suaimhneas síoraí dá hanam dilís.
