Christmas lights switch-on next week

Mullingar's Christmas lights will be switched on next Friday, November 24.

In a post on social media, Mullingar Winterfest Christmas Experience said that the lights will be switched on by a special guest in the Market Square at 5.30pm.

Members of the public have been asked to wear their Christmas jumpers to the event to “spread the joy”.

Members of the cast of this year's MAC panto, The Little Mermaid, will be paying a visit, along with Santa Claus, which will also add to the Christmas spirit.

Brew42 will be on the square with treats and tea/coffee, while Midlands 103 will be broadcasting their Drive-Time Show, which is sponsored by Swarbrigg Shoes.

Mullingar Chamber also gave a “huge thanks to Lift Hire Ireland for their work on getting the lights up in the coming week”.
