Mullingar Town Soccer Club hosted a reunion of the Glen Abbey Cup winning side of 1973 and the Counties Cup winning side of 1978 on Saturday evening in the Mullingar Arts Centre.
The Glen Abbey Cup and the Counties Cup took pride of place and the players sang a song for Jim Moore as a get well gesture. Jim was represented on the evening by his son Joseph. Presentations took place and the trophies were sponsored by the Moore Group New York (MGNY).
It was great to see the old players mixing with the present day players and there were memorable stories told on the night. It is hoped that this will encourage the current players to go on and achieve success for the club.
Mullingar Town is also delighted with the success of the launch of their schoolboys academy on Thursday evening and the future looks bright.
Leinster Junior Cup
