Christmas lights switch-on in Mullingar this evening

Mullingar's Christmas lights are being switched on today Friday, November 24, in the Market Square at 5.30pm.

In a post on social media, Mullingar Winterfest Christmas Experience said that the lights will be switched on by a special guest.

Members of the public have been asked to wear their Christmas jumpers to the event to “spread the joy”.

Members of the cast of this year's Mulllingar Arts Centre panto, The Little Mermaid, will visit, along with Santa Claus.

Brew42 will be on the square with treats and tea/coffee, while Midlands 103 will be broadcasting their Drive-Time Show, which is sponsored by Swarbrigg Shoes.

Mullingar Chamber also gave a “huge thanks to Lift Hire Ireland for their work on getting the lights up”.
