Four local GAA clubs to share in €185k Clár funding
Rosemount GAA, Ballycomoyle GAA, Kilbeggan Shamrocks GAA and Multyfarnham GAA have been successful in the latest round of Clár funding.
Fine Gael Minister Peter Burke welcomed the news, saying:
“I am really happy to announce that four local GAA clubs have been successful in the latest round of Clár Funding confirmed today by my colleague, Minister Heather Humphreys TD.
Multyfarnham GAA is to get €50,000 towards the installation of an all-weather Astro pitch; Kilbeggan Shamrocks GAA will receive €45,000 towards the upgrade of their walking track and the installation of LED lights; €48,763 will go towards the construction of an outdoor area with play equipment and fitness machines in Ballycomoyle GAA; while Rosemount GAA is to get €42,615 towards the installation of new toilet facilities.
“The four GAA clubs successful in this round of Clár funding are Rosemount GAA, Ballycomoyle GAA, Kilbeggan Shamrocks GAA and Multyfarnham GAA.
“Significant funding of over €40,000 in each case is allocated to a range of projects, from toilets to lighting, to playing surfaces which will have a significant impact on the quality of the infrastructure and facilities in the clubs.
“This is another great example of funding going to the heart of our communities where local committees work tirelessly for the betterment of their clubs and communities,” commented Minister Burke.
“I commend the hard-working committees who put the work in on these applications and identify projects that will benefit their members.
“Minister Humphreys was quick to remark on a recent trip to the constituency that she has the funds if we have the projects, and she has delivered on that promise here today.
"I look forward to seeing the clubs grow and progress with the help of this funding,” concluded Minister Burke.
