Last week, was a special time for the learners from Longford and Westmeath Education and Training Board (LWETB). LWETB has two campuses in Mullingar – at Marlinstown Business Park and O’Growney Drive. Between the two, more than 100 students received their certificates at a graduation ceremony in the Annebrook House Hotel last Tuesday night.
There was a lovely atmosphere, as families and tutors joined together to celebrate their achievements. The director of Further Education and Training, Antonine Healy, and the Adult Education officer, Shauna Doherty, presented the certificates to the learners.
LWETB would like to congratulate all the learners on their achievements.
This year the Marlinstown campus decided to present a ‘Student of the Year Award’ for the first time, and the Adult Literacy organiser, Tricia Egginton, was delighted to present the inaugural award to Masouda Arafa Aref for outstanding dedication to her studies.
Masouda demonstrates the positive qualities and interest in learning which impacts all of her fellow students. Through her enthusiasm and commitment, Masouda shows how adult education can change your life.
LWETB centres are closed for the Christmas break from Friday, December 22; classes will resume on Monday January 8.
“We wish all of our students and staff a peaceful Christmas and the very best for the new year.”
