Success for Mullingar's Matthew Glennon in 3K Walk

Matthew Glennon of Mullingar Harriers AC, picked up the men’s U23 3K Walk title, in what was a busy day’s action at the TUS International Arena in Athlone on Saturday.

In a fine achievement, Glennon took first place in a winning time of 12:09.49 ahead of Moy Valley’s Jake O’Brien in 12:09.99. It was a wonderful performance by the talented Mullingar Harriers star, who was taking on the 3K Walk for the second year in succession.

On a day in which several championship records were recorded, Colin P Smith of Mullingar Harriers finished second on the U23 1500m event.
