Storm Isha: Thousands without power this morning

Around 3,600 local households are without power this morning due to damage caused by “severe and destructive” gusts during Storm Isha.

According to the ESB's Powercheck service, at 7am this morning 749 households in the Newbrook area were without power, while in the greater Delvin area over 1,300 homes have been affected.

Over 570 households in the Ballinderry area were without power, while in the Moate area the figure was 975.

The ESB has estimated that power will be returned to local housholds by 6pm this evening.
