Coole won't be left without a GP - Burke
The people of Coole and surrounding areas will not be left without a GP service, according to Minister Peter Burke.
In post on social media today, Deputy Burke said that “a lot of residents in the Coole area have raised concerns in connection with Coole Surgery and the value it provides to the community”.
Deputy Burke added that he has received a commitment from the HSE that it “will ensure a continuation of service”.
“I have spoken to service users and have also been working with Cllr Frank McDermott. This morning I raised these concerns with HSE management.
“It is not uncommon practice for GP surgeries to change hands over time and the HSE will ensure the post is advertised and will also provide cover to ensure there is no loss of service to the community.
“I will keep in touch on this vital issue for the community and work closely with the HSE to ensure the needs of our community are met.”
