Delvin gearing up nicely for return of St Patrick's parade
As the town of Delvin gears up to celebrate the much-anticipated St Patrick's parade on March 18, chairman David Jones says that preparations for the event are proceeding exceptionally well.
With enthusiasm brimming in the air, the chairman extends his heartfelt gratitude to all the sponsors who have eagerly come on board to support this vibrant community event.
"We could not be more delighted with the response from our sponsors," Mr Jones said. "Their generosity and commitment to our town's festivities have been overwhelming. We want to thank each and every one of them for helping to keep the spirit of St Patrick's Day alive in Delvin."
While the parade already boasts an impressive line-up of floats and marvellous entries, the committee is still seeking participants to join the grand procession. Creativity, community spirit, and musical floats are all welcome as they look to make this year's parade the most memorable yet. Local businesses, community groups, schools, and individuals are all encouraged to get involved and showcase their talents.
In conjunction with the parade, a special raffle event is set to take place at Shaughnessy's Bar on April 6. This will not only be an evening filled with fun and celebration but also the moment when the awards for various parade categories will be presented. The raffle is a crucial initiative to help raise funds for the running costs of the parade, ensuring that this beloved tradition can continue to flourish for years to come.
As the parade is scheduled to happen on March 18, from 3 pm to 5 pm, attendees are advised that parking will be limited within the vicinity. Early arrival is highly recommended to secure parking and to enjoy the full experience of the festivities without any inconvenience.
