Lorry overturns on N51 Athboy Road

The N51 Athboy Road remains closed at Halltown, Dunderry, after a truck overturned there this morning.

The road is completely blocked and the lorry has shed its load of grain onto the road.

It is understood that the 30-year-old driver was not injured and was able to exit the lorry. No other vehicle was involved.

Emergency services including the ambulance and fire service attended the scene.

The collision also resulted in an oil spill on the road and emergency services are continuing to deal with that.

It is expected that this section of the N51could be closed for some time while the road is being cleared. It is understood that crane is on the way to the scene to lift the lorry from the road.
