More than 50 floats, “all good quality”, have entered for the Delvin St Patrick’s Parade 2024, which takes place on bank holiday Monday, March 18, at 3pm.
A number of bands, including the Kentstown and Seneschalstown Accordion Band, plus the Brownstown Drama Group and a samba group will add to the spectacle.
There will be vendors selling food and ice cream, and the local traders will be open for business and ready to welcome everyone to the village.
David Jones, chair of the Delvin St Patrick’s Parade committee said on Friday afternoon that plans going well, and he advised people to arrive early as parking is limited. Gardaí and Devlin GAA members will be on traffic duty during the afternoon.
David thanks all the sponsors of the event, the volunteers and other supporters, and added: “I would like to thank everyone for their sponsorship and support, and to personally thank the committee – no one else sees the amount of hard work that goes in behind the scenes, and I am grateful for their support.”
