Tommy Tiernan announces tour date in Athlone

Comedian and popular chat show host Tommy Tiernan will perform his new stand-up show, 'tommedian' in Athlone this summer.

The Navan man will perform in the Dean Crowe Theatre on Saturday, June 15.

The new show is being described as a 'wild, uninhibited and fiercely physical display of stand up.'

Tickets will go on sale tomorrow morning (Thursday) at 10am via tommytiernan.com or the Dean Crowe box office.

Tommy has performed sold-out shows in Athlone on numerous occasions and has strong family connections to the town. He spent some of his early life in Athlone and briefly went to school in the Marist.

Tommy's great-grandfather was the late Frank Flanagan, who was postmaster at the old Athlone sub-post office on Mardyke Street.
