Artur Ceczczak Driving off in the Eamonn Clarke Electrical Ltd sponsored competition at New Forest Golf Club.It is difficult having any sort of a conversation these days without making some reference to the weather. The almost full timesheets bear testimony to the resilience of New Forest golfers. While most of the country took Theresa Mannion’s advice not to make unnecessary journeys, the promenade in Salthill and the New Forest Golf Club carpark showed that some people were prepared to buck the trend of remaining indoors.
Friday last saw the eagerly awaited return of the Callaway Open Singles Stableford completion and it was Ollie Scally who took the honours from Shane Donoghue. Like the swallows, this competition usually heralds the return of warmer weather and less trying playing conditions.
Already in the season, some golfers are showing consistent form and are featuring regularly as prizewinners.
Thanks Deccie for the elbow brace. Hope you won’t end up regretting it in the manner Rory McIlroy regretted advising Scottie Sheffler about changing putters!
